This song is from one of my favorate movies from my childhood, Spirit: the Stallion of the Cimarron. And in the same way that it used to: this song reminds me of my will to be who I am--no matter who tries to keep me from being me.

Songs are powerful in this way.

They breathe strength into me when I feel like there is nothing left inside of me. Lately, I have felt that because of certain difficulties with my parents that my whole church & family are against who I have come to be over the years. (To which, I love the person I am now compared to who I was). I felt they were all judging against who I am because they expected me to be the person I was. But, what they don't seem to understand is that I changed because I didnt like the person I was before. I was feble. I let people walk all over me. I let people's words cause me to bury my passions below the surface of the iceburg of me. I lived in fear, and not in love.

But now, I am love. And, I'm not afraid to be who I am and have passions, loves, and dreams--no matter how much work, how hard, and how expensive they are. Life is expensive in general and I don't give up on living because it costs too much... likewise, I will not give up on my dreams and passions and loves. For: It doesn't matter how hard or how much money or work is costs me. It's worth it because it gives meaning to my life. Reason for me to slip out of bed each morning, place my feet on the floor and keep moving, keep fighting, keep striving.

It's songs like these that remind me of

this reason, this worth, this purpose.

Because...
